"Haidian Destrict"

I am living and working in Haidian destrict, the
north-west of Beijing. This destrict is notable for her
good educational people and good cultural environment,
just like Chaoyang destrict is famous for her wealthy
merchants and big international cooperations. So, you
can say, I am not a richer in a rich area, I still need
to bargain when I buy something.:-) I like Haidian
destrict, though, there are a lot of famous
universities, like Tsinghua University, Beijing
University,and lots of well known computer companies. And,Olympic village in 2008 will be set here, too.

"Zhongguancun Street"

Zhongguancun is called Chinese silicon valley. Lots of computer companies are together here.It has very fast development those years. From the small and disorderly area to today's IT technology garden it really attracts many high tech persons to work here day and day.

This is Zhongguancun street.The spiral statue is the icon of Zhongguancun.

Zhichunlu Road is lacated in the east of Zhongguancun street,and it's a part of Zhongguancun area.There are many nice buildings standing on Zhichulu Road.You'll see them below.

This intersection is called Huangzhuang,it's an important bus hinge of Zhongguancun area.

This is Sigma building facing Zhichulu Road. I am a IT consultant and working in this building every work day. You can find that Microsoft (China) is in this building,too.

Where I am living? Just opposite Sigma. I walk to my
office only taking 5 minutes every day. Yeh, pretty
good, more comfortable than my other colleagues.:-)

Zhichunlu Road was rebuilt just before Aug.,2001, the eve of the 21th University games of the world.

Beside Sigma building there are mansions where athletes were living during the 21st University games of the world.

Now the students of several universities live in those mantions. By the way, do you think it was a successful world sports games organized by Beijing's municipality last year?

The University Games is seen as a preview of Olympic Games commonly in the world.
The 21st University Games was held on Aug.22,2001.And 3,939 athletes from 169 countries and territories took part in this Games. There were 2,751 coaches and officals and 2,243 reports,too. China was on the top of the medal list finally.
The 22nd University Games will hold on Aug.21,2003 in South Korea.

Just behind those mantions (the north of them)is my university: Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics(BUAA). She is one of the well known universities of Beijing and of China.
BUAA is famed by her computer science college among the universities of Beijing.

I like my university very much.I was living here for 10 years,every tree and every classroom on campus are still so familiar with me.Now,I still visit the campus very often,'cause my parents-in-law are living here.

So,when i get some nice pics of my university later,i'll show you here.

More than 50 major institutions of research and education are located in Beijing. Beijing has a lot of high grade colleges and universities. The most prominent institutions are Peking University, founded in 1898; and Tsinghua University, founded in 1911, which is the most prestigious scientific and technical institution in the country. Both institutions are located in the northwest suburbs, an area associated with higher education and scientific research.
Also in this area are the People's University, founded in 1937, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, founded in 1949.A lot of new established universities and institutes have achieved world reputation , such as Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, North Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Beijing has a first class library in Asia, the National Library of Beijing houses a collection of 11 million volumes. It is even the top of Asia.Beijing conscientiously followed the strategy of vitalizing the country with science and education ,and actively reformed the administrative system of school operation to accelerate the transformation of science and technology into productivity.
