If Beijing is like other Chinese cities then keep an extremely alert look out for heavy drugs and avoid them at all costs. I have seen coke etc in various clubs etc so as soon as you see it work out your exit strategy immediately. You wouldn't want to get caught up in a raid. be vigilant.
If you do find a good place then enjoy it as you will have a fantastic time.

Best time to visit Beijing must in the autumn. Beijing is the most safety city in China. Because no one knows who is the spy there. That's why all the citizen there are observe the laws and government. And all the ppl I met was very kind there. Better than in canton at lease.( sorry to say that ) This picture was taken from Xiang Shan. All the people here come to see the maple at the last two week at October every year. You can see all the sea of red tree on the top from the hill. The noodles in the small shop is very very good. But the most famous Peking Duck in Beijing is disappointed me. Better try in Hong Kong
Shidu is located 100 kilometers southwest of downtown Beijing in Fangshan County. You can stay at a farmer's home at night and ride horses or climb mountains during the day. The highlight, of course, is the bungee jump in beautiful surroundings and you even have a choice between high (55 meters) or low (48 meters) as well as tandem jumps with your best friend. All equipment is imported from New Zealand and the staff is professionally trained.
Wangfujing has been recently refurbished and it's now a prestigious and popular shopping haunt of both locals and foreigners. There are heaps of big name stores here as well as a huge foreign languages book store at number 235. The street is open late and it's fantastic to wander down the street after dark looking at the pretty lights!
It's extremely easy to get here, you can walk, catch a bus, taxi or the subway. It's very central and you'll find yourself back here again and again. The prices here are a little bit more expensive than the markets but you will be able to find anything and everything in a convenient location.
You have not experience the nightlife of true Beijinger if you dont visit this place. Beijinger are true singers, they can sing day and night. When I say day and night it means non-stop. We once had a singing sessions among friends that stretches for the whole weekend, from Friday evening all the way to Sunday evening.
Cashbox is the best/most popular place to sing in Beijing. The Chaoyangmeng Branch is the preferred choice. It has the best system around and they run 24 hours with buffet (free of charge) serving every 3 hours.
Usually this place is packed and advance booking is advisable. You might be amused to see the crowd walk-in in the middle of the night at 1am dressing up and ready to sing!! That is a normal sighting. Casual
