hi, are you sure you got the right spelling? OU does not exist in China. As you are flying to Pekin try MUTYANYU

Do you know any more about it? Is it a suburb of Beijing? Do you know it in Chinese?

dung is not Chinese, should be deng or dong.

There are a few near misses:
In Jilin province is Mujiadian
There is a Mujia in Yunnan province, and another in Liaoning (Google knows about this one) province, not far from Shenyang. Mujia dong would be east of Mujia.

Mutyanyu is one of the places to visit the Great Wall, I wouldn't think there would be any companies around there to give consultations to.
Have you tried looking for the name of the company? Surely you must have some contact in China who would have to indicate the location you have to visit, with more than just this place name (i.e. street address)? It could also be written Mou Jia Dung, representing 3 separate Chinese characters: but while Jia Dung and Jia Dong show up as names of places or persons, I can't think what the whole thing might be.

Travel Tips for Beijing

Acrobatics show

by Gard

We bought tickets for the Acrobatics show
in the hotel lobby at 120 RMB (about € 15) each. The show was located pretty close to our hotel (the SAS Radisson) and it started at about 7.30 PM. I haven’t been to a show like this in years and it reminded me a bit about stuff that you see in the circus. I was pretty impressed with the show itself. Some of the stuff that was performed was quite amazing. Just look at the picture. The man at the bottom is balancing on a cylinder and the boy on top is doing the same. Looks pretty dangerous if you ask me :-) The show lasted for about 1-1 ½ hours and if you get thirsty or hungry you can buy snacks there during the interval. We also thought about going to the Beijing opera but we never really got around to that…maybe next time :-)

Give her an ice cream

by Luchonda

Culture guidance is in fact : look at the picture
-not only to the young girl dirty old men ! but to the difference : the selling woman of local ice but with a mask to protect against air pollution - the person on the left - protecting against - no serious - old and young meets in Beijing ! But it can take some years !
i think the protest of students a few years ago on this square was a revolution !! And opened China - the economics - the culture - the world opinion about freedom !

We've done a walking map of...

by bathrobe

We've done a walking map of the area around Beijing Zoo. It has explanations of the local sights, including old temples and museums, Matteo Ricci's grave, local shopping 'emporia', etc. There is a lot of history around here because the Empress Dowager used to go by boat from the Forbidden City to the Summer Palace, and this area was on the way. You can even download the map and explanations to take when you're sightseeing. (The map was done by our hotel, but it's a public service for all visitors to the area).

Branch of a 100-year old store

by FreeCloud about Rui Fu Xiang silk fabric store

Rui Fu Xiang started in 1893. It is original store was located in Qian Men traditional neibhorhood, however, recently, the entire neighborhood is under renovation thus all traditional stores would be either relocated or simply disappear.

Fortunately, while you will not see its traditional house in Qian Men, it has a branch on the most famous shopping street: Wang Fu Jing street.

Business hours: 9:00-21:00 Silk fabric and silk appearal and other products (more traditional style than contemporary ones).

In addition, they will make you traditional silk outfit on site as well. Price varies depends upon materials, styles - fancy ones with sophisticated embroderies are very labor consuming: Chinese labor is no longer the cheapest in the world, especially not from the stores on this street. Price varies. The price is not the cheapest (as VT Confucius said, prices of silk in Suzhou could be cheaper: always cheaper at the producing places), but very reasonable. E.g., price for a great selection (in terms of pattern, texture, thickness, colors etc) of silk fabrics (great quality) is around $10/m (or less so per yard for those who knows nothing about metric system), same thing could easily cost 3 if not 4 times that much in USA.

Ready made silk clothes are NOT cheap. But there are so many other stores on the street,(and in Beijing) for a cheaper price.

Arriving by air

by cinthya_in_victoria

There are multiple choices to get to Beijing, but as I was on a tour, I arrived by plane flying with Japan Airlines but of couse, all major international airlines fly to China. The Airport is located about an hour from downtown Beijing.
