This was a great---and cheap!--place to stay. My sister and I visited Beijing August 2004 and were quite comfortable at this hotel. Our room was large, the beds comfortable, the bathroom was sparking. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent---and cheap! The staff was helpful and polite. The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square were within walking distance, or a short cab ride. The hotel is in an interesting location---you know you are in Beijing as soon as you step out the door. We loved walking around (except for the fact that it was as hot and humid as DC). Yes, I recommend the Prime Hotel without hesitation!

This probably was the best room I had while in China. The interior was very plush and clean and I believe it had been recently renovated. There was a Drum celebration close by the first night, but the other evenings were very quiet although it is in a busy section on Beijing.
This hotel was delightful. The facilities were excellent, the room lovely, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a government owned hotel, and totally first class!
We enjoyed the location of this hotel in that it was only a 15 minute walk to the Forbidden City. Wang Fujing Avenue is a busy shopping street that was fun to walk at night.
