Beijing is changing very fast and nowadays, hotels are virtually everywhere and Rosedale hotel is a good exemple of a good and not expensive one as the rates are around US$ 80 - 100,00 per person.
It is a quite new block, maybe without a soul, was built in a modern style, has big and confortable rooms (although I heard someone complaining about a small one, so ask first about the size ! ), rooms furniture in good shape, bathroom ok, the lobby and restaurant area are nice and the staff very helpfull and friendly.
There is also a fitness center that could have a bit more equippments but enough for relax and keep in good shape after a hard work day.
It is located in the rapidly expanding northeastern region of the city, the Chaoyang district and embraced by two beautiful parks. In it´s neighbourhood are the east embassy area (USA and Brazil included ), the Lufthansa Shopping Centre, the China World trade Center, the Beijing railway station and better of all, the Sun Shopping mall, a building with two floor with hundreds of small stores of clothes, watches and almost everything one can think, located only three blocks on the left side of the hotel and where the prices are unbeatable. The Beijing International airport is only 15 km away and takes only 20 min through the Airport Highway.
From this hotel one can rapidly reach the underground and the city center although in rush hours this can take around an hour. Taxis are cheap but ask for the hotel porter. In a short, staying at this hotel can be very practical if you are on business or leisure travel.

We stayed for four nights at the Rosedale with a tour group. The hotel was very nice: spacious, clean, lots of amenities.
We were away from the hotel for the most part, but when we were there, my BF did indulge in a body massage at the spa, which he said was great. There was also a gym and health center. The hotel was also hosting a small conference while we were there. The hotel also had the usual security precautions available, although our in-roomsafe didn't work (we used the hotel safe deposit box instead).
We didn't try any of the restaurants, as our group was eating the breakfast buffet. I was a little disappointed with it. Some of the selections were delicious, but some were really not, and there wasn't enough selection overall.
