we are ending our cruise in beijing, can someone recommend the best way of transportation from the port to the city of beijing?
is there a bullet train that we can experience while in beijing, or we can use to go to Xi'an?
we will be in beijing on Nov 19 to 22, what is the temperature and climate around this time?
I look forward to all your help and thank you for all your time
From the port, take bus or taxi to Tianjin railway station, you can take the intercity express train there to Beijing. It takes only half hour. The top speed I saw was 333km/h. 1st class ticket is 68RMB, 2nd class ticket is about 55RMB.
You can also take overnight train from Beijing to Xi'an, but the train is not fast. It leaves after 9pm and arrives after 8am next day.
Bullet trains from Tanggu port to city of Beijing. http://www.q2hoo.com/2010/07/latest-tanggu-to-beijing-train-schedule.htm (trains with leading letter C)
There is no bullet train from Beijing to Xi'an yet, but overnight Z trains are comfortable, fast, and saving cost. Train schedules & fares is: http://www.q2hoo.com/2010/06/latest-beijing-to-xian-train-schedule.htm. However Z trains are popular too, if you could, buy train tickets advanced.

With an area of some 400,000sq.m, is the largest square in the world today. Here you will find the 'Monument of People's Heroes' in the centre, 'Chairman Mao Memorial Hall' to its south, 'Tian An Men Rostrum' on its north, the 'Great Hall of the People' on its west, the 'Museum of the Chinese History' and the 'Museum of Chinese Revolution' on the east. The Square is listed top among Beijing's 16 scenic spots.
We were advised to take a full medical kit with us on our trip, and laughed it off, thinking how silly is that. We learnt the hard way. We will never travel in China again with inadequte medical supplies for the basic vomiting and gastric problems you can suffer. Secret is "don't eat the lettuce".
Take plenty of Immodiun or similiar product and gastolite to rebuild your energy levels.
The Dabaotai Han Tomb is located in Dabaotai Village in the southwestern suburbs of Beijing. Built entirely of wood, it was the tomb of a Han king of the Western Han Dynasty who was buried about 2,000 years ago. Archeologists excavated the site in the 1970s, uncovering relics invaluable to the historical record of Beijing.
The huge tomb is comprised of burial chamber, antechamber (furnished like an imperial sitting room) and coffin chamber (with five coffins for the emperor). About 15,800 cypress logs went into the massive construction, which was then sealed with charcoal and gypsum to protect against the elements.
Though the tomb did mot escape early grave robbers and vandals, over 400 burial objects of pottery, bronze, iron, jade, agate, lacquer and silk were salvaged. A piece of the earliest decarbonized steel known in China, woven brocade hat ribbons and iron axes stamped with the characters ?Yuyang ironsmith,? as well as local agricultural products are also on display.
The museum, opened in 1986, is closed every Monday.
It is quite an adventure to go to this place by public transport. Most Beijingers don't know about this Han Tomb. Therefore the place is quiet and without many people. Dabaotai Han Tomb is located near the World Park.

Cheapest Hard Rock merchandise in the world , but drinks are very expansive by China standard, good atmosphere.
But I personally prefer Sunlitou Bar Street, cos I speak Chinese and I get to know a lot of locals who are very friendly and nice.
