Construction of the Great Wall began between the 7th and 8th centuries B.C. when the warring states put up mammoth defensive walls to ward off enemies from the north. The wall was completed over a period of more than 1000 years, perhaps due to conflicting dynastic zoning regulations and building codes, not to mention workers dying on the job.
Sitting on a camel with the magnificent background of the Chinese Wall is a photo that you cannot make anywhere else. You feel a bit like Marco Polo reaching China at the end of his long travel ;-)))
