In the Abode of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva
"Nunnery"
My group stayed at this small nunnery somewhat off the main tourist climb. It was my favorite place on Emei Shan. The nuns did not speak English (very few people on the mountain did) but they were very friendly and the food(all pure vegetarian and grown locally) was heavenly, as was the setting. I felt as though I could stay here for weeks. The morning whn we left, the nuns played badminton in the courtyard:
"Nunnery cont."
Here is a view of the front of the nunnery:
"Beautiful scenery"
Everywhere you look there are amazing views, it is truly a magical place and worth the grueling climb up the steps rather than taking the lazy way(bus). See the monkey in the photo-they are everywhere when you get about 2/3 of the way up and can be very aggressive!
