My Ex-neighbour Xiamen, the Amoy

"Nan Pu Tuo Temple"
Here I am Xiamen, this is a place I really want to go in China. I felt really excited once I stood on the land. For there are few reasons, it has been more than 17 years since my last visit to Fujian Province in China; besides, I used to live in Kinmen, where is just a few KMs away, for my NS; last but certainly not least, we share the same language, not only Mandarin, like the rest part of the country, but also my dialect, southern Hokkien.
I took the photo in one of the most famous temple in China, Nan Putou Temple.
"My team..."
Thanks to my colleague Susan and my supervisor Hanks, without whose support
"Pointing home..."

Xiamen - Last Visit in November 2002

I came here on a 5-day tour of Fujian Province. As you can see, Xiamen has prospered due to its Special Economic Zone status by the Chinese Government. This picture was taken from Gulangyu Island, a resort island for locals.
To enter the city from Xiamen International Airport, you will need to travel across the Xiamen Bridge linking the city.
Gulangyu Island resembles summer villas for the elite class. Here's a map depicting attractions surrouding the rocky outcrops of the island.
This is the famous outcrop on Gulangyu Island. Chinese tend to write sayings on rocky outcrops.
You do not see this often; a happy bunch of People's Liberation Army (PLA) personnel taking pictures on the outcrop on Gulangyu Island.
Here's the short cablecar between two outcrops on Gulangyu Island.
No, you are not dreaming. What you see is shark skin being sold in a store at Gulangyu Island.
Here's a nice park located right at the front steps of Nanputuo Temple.
