  • My boyfriend and I moved to Xiamen a few months ago. While looking for an apartment to rent, we stayed at a hostel near the city center. The hostel was adequate, but not comfortable. After a few days sleeping on a traditional Chinese mattress in a room without heat in the Xiamen winter, we both badly needed a soft bed, a warm bath and a great western breakfast. The Marco Polo was the perfect spot for us.

    Nice views of Yuandang Lake and the Xiamen skyline. Easy access to many western restuarants and coffee shops. Pool during warmer months, small but adequate fitness facility, great western buffet.
