Lots of reasonable priced goods at the day or night market, however you must bargain for lower price, about 30-50% lower. Most of the time, we have to act like we're not interested if the price is not dropped half. if the peddlers see that you really want the product, they will only drop the price a little.

Downtown ZhongShan Road has a plenty of retail shops & departmental stores but the prices of branded goods are hiked up much higher. The branded clothes are mostly made in China but with higher price.

Gulangyu Museum

You literally can't miss it. The museum is the most visible building on Gulang Island, located on a hilltop and displaying a distinctive red octagonal dome. Exhibits include crafts, war relics and historical light industry.

"Nice place to relax"

Actual Xiamen is a island, when I went back from Zhangzhou by bus then I noticed, this was not found when I took the fiight.
clean, clear, Hakka people
not many people, not very fast moving city.
many flights to Xiamen everyday, cheap and convienent public bus.

I have the impression that Xiamen like Singapore, clean, tide... in the famous shopping street, Zhongshanlu, old westen style building brings to remember almost same things in Macao, even some foods & cooking style also same, but good & cheap here a lot......I like it a lot.
