July 1st Glacier Management Office: Staying at the entrance gateway

At the entrance gateway, there is a joint management office (the glacier is in Sunnan County but is managed and developed by Jiayuguan Municipality). There are rooms kept for researchers here, and it is possible, by prior arrangement with the Tourism Authority in Jiayuguan to stay here. There are about eight spare rooms. The six staff of the glacier park live here, and food is provided by the Mingolian-run restuarant alongside.

Unique Quality: The facilities here are extremely basic. There are indoor toilets and the rooms are small with just a couple of beds in each room. The whole place is heated throughout the year.
