Food Street restaurant inside Foshan Hotel
by DanzaoKid about Foshan Hotel
At first I expected a run of the mill 5 star fancy restaurant inside a fancy 5 star hotel with cloth napkins and piano music. Well, it looked that way from the outside. (upstairs from the main floor)
But once you go in you are surrounded by two walls full of cooks behind food counters. It's just like a big food mall - just walk around and bring your table ticket to each station. They have samples of everything on display - Simply point, then specify the quantity 1,2,3. that's it. Some of it is delivered to your table and others handed to you right there. The food bill is calculated like a Dim sum restaurant as they do charge a tea fee $10 rmb per person I think.
It was a clean, well run, and a very pleasant restaurant experience outside of Hong Kong.
A westerner would be very comfortable here. (paper napkins) It's all pretty good. As with most street food -what you see is what you get. The variety of food was very good, everything from Dim Sum to Goose intestines. Duck to Congee, Fruit drinks and fresh noodles etc. The fried dumpling ( a fried desert) simply melted in my mouth - it was so fresh )
Baiyun airport bus to Foshan #9 (downtown)
by DanzaoKid
For those of you needing transportation to or from the new Baiyun Airport (code CAN) there is indeed a scheduled bus. At the bottom ground level of the airport, in both terminals A and B, they have 8 bus lines. Most go to Guangzhou. On the very bottom of the signs = look carefully is a small "Foshan" bus #9 that is currently (2007) $28 rmb one way. It is not a hotel shuttle but a city shuttle. It goes to the main bus terminal in downtown Foshan. The bus terminal is perhaps a mile north of the Foshan Hotel.

Dunhou Foshan Hotel
by lollipop18moon
Hi everyone,
Has anybody stayed in this hotel before? Please let me know some comment about how it is? I'm considering staying there for convenience but worry about the comfort and facilities of the hotel.
Thanks in advance

i have stayed in foshan hotel a couple of times... massage there is terrible... the one in the hotel wing is EXPENSIVE and includes hanky panky... for a decent massage... go to the one diagionally across from the hotel... stepping out of the hotel... turn right and go towards the underpass... there is a big massage place at about 10'0clock... you cannot miss it... it is called HAI TIEN KE or something like that

found the card i took the last time i was there...
you can call... 822 89 098
it is about 58 RMB for a 60 min foot massage... extra time is at 40 RMB... i usually ask for extra time... the massage is of a good standard... MUCH better than those in FOSHAN Hotel... time extension includes head and back massage... VERY GOOD... soothe all my aches away :)
the drinks there are a little pricey... so i tend to stay away from ordering tea...

Hi Syoka, thanks for your post.
I don't actually know where in Foshan will I live.
I guess that Foshan is a quite big town in Guangdong.
Really I don't know much China and of course Foshan.
Is Foshan Shunde far from the city center? I have heard that Foshan is a well known touristic spot.
I hope I will enjoy my stay in your town, and maybe I've found also a friend in Foshan? :-)
Keep in touch!
Love,
Alex
