I'm going on a shoppingtrip to Guangzhou and Hong Kong from dec 28 to jan 7th. Here's a list of what I will try to find and I wonder if you can help me with tha best place to find it (cheapest)?
1) Semi-manufactured jewelry. Silver chains, silver locks etc
2) Leathercords, real leatherstrings in different thickness
3) Jeans
4) Wodden stamps with beautiful patterns
5) Shoes
6) Eyeglasses, sunglasses, lenses
I'll begin with a few days in Guangzhou and spend New Year + few days in HK to be back in Guangzhou a couple of days before heading back home.
Tips on other things to buy is appriciated!

In Gz, go to Liwan and Xi Jiao for the jewelry. Shoes at the back of Guangzhou Hotel Haizhu and a building beside one of the wholesale fashion clothes near Railway Station. In Hk, go to Sham Shui Po (Yu Chau St. and nearby streets) for the leather. Sunglasses at Renmin Zhong Lu, Gz.
Many of the factory workers are migrants from the villages. The come to the cities to earn money to take back to their families. Often housing is provided for them at the factory dormatory. This is the dormatory for the Ohio Art, Etch-a-sketch factory
Templ grounds are amazing. First thing everyone notices is the Pagoda which towers over the compound. But don't get stuck at the pagoda you must explore the entire grounds (the library is off limits), the shrine with the three Buddha are amazing.
It will probably take about an hour to go through.
2 rich teenagers ride their expensive BMX bike and dress in American HipHop style while another 2 teenager bystanders ride their ancient "company" delivery bike. I took the photo while they all busy at what they are doing.
Same age, all got a bike, live in the same area... different fate.
What do local people do in the park? KunFu!! Seriously...
GuangZhou train station got the world's longest queue to buy a ticket. Around Chinese new year, the queue were so long that extends to...everywhere.
In some area, people just walk on the road instead of sidewalk. Hay, it's not only Chinese does that. I seem the similiar situation in Eastern Europe as well. It seems people prefer to walk on the road when the traffic is not busy.
