Travel to Xinhui

by kchoong

I will be trying to visit my ancestry grave in Xinhui, Guangdong Province in November. Will be flying into Hong Kong and Staying in Lo Wu on the China side. Like to get advise on what is the best way to go to Xinhui from Lo Wu/Shenzhen. How long will it take and any hotel recommendations in Xinhui. I speak cantonese so should not be a problem with language. Thanks in advance.

The transportation network is so strong in shenzhen, I am sure you could find some coach to Xinhui
I strongly recommend you not to go to "Heaven of Birds".It's so boring~~~~~~~~~Seeing some birds flying over your head, and that's all. Do you find it attractive?

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Fresh Innards at Qingping Market

by herzog63

You can get the freshest innards at Qingping Market that is located very close to Shamian Island. Here you will find any part of just about any animal that you want to eat. I visited during the month of February so it was quite cool hence the meat was refrigerated and there weren't any flies. But I'm sure if you visit during the summer months the meat will be moving because of the flies.

It is Easy to get around though the City is crowd

As the third biggest city in China, it have a very nice transportation system to serve the people.
Bus, Subway, Railroad, and China's 4th biggest airport. You are really should not worried about getting around this great city.

Baiyun Shan - The Guangzhou Steeles

by jlee008

The Guangzhou Steeles is another themed respite within the Baiyun Shan Mountain Park. This part of Baiyun Shan is decorated with large granite slabs with carvings of Chinese sayings. I couldn't understand the writing, however, my uncle said that it contains some history, philosophy, and poetry. It was cool.

Zhongshan is now China's fastest-developing Special Economic Zone in the Pearl River Delta as well as being the birthplace of Dr Sun Yat-sen, the founder of modern China. A whole lot different to what I saw some 12 years ago.

Until recently it was one of the poorest areas in China. In the late 1800s it was a major source of labor for Hawaii plantations, and most of Hawaii's Chinese community claim roots here.

The new city stretches for miles through what were rice paddies here only five years ago.

The Pearl River Delta and the river village community is renowned for its waterways, fruit plantations and fish farms.

"Pedestrian Street Market"

"Sun Yat-Sen Memorial School"

The Middle School is located at the north of Sun Yat-Sen's former residence. The school was built by Sun ke, Sun Yat-sen's son to memorise and inspire all students to devote themselves to study and give their contribution to the country.

The first project of building was completed at the end of 1934, and comprises Heling Hall, Haodong Hall, Shouping Hall, Chingling Hall, Baojun Hall and a teacher's and students dormitory and was approved as one of the first key middle schools of Guangdong province in 1953.
