Xiangjiang Safari Park is the leading zoo in China. It has over 20,000 animals from over 450 species including Pandas, koalas, polar bears, tigers, orangutans, chimpanzese, and a wide collection of African animals.
It is the first 5A tourist attraction located in Guangzhou. The park is divided into 2 main sections, the "safari on foot section" where guests walk around a well designed zoo and the "safari on wheels section" where guests board 'road trains' and are taken through an open range section where animals are free to roam. By far the most impressive area in the "safari on wheels section" is the African Plainlands, where you will find giraffe, zebra, wilderbeast, springbok, and other animals move around the road train.
Animal interaction is also available with the chance to feed camels, giraffe, elephants, and baby tigers. They also have over 100 white-tigers, representing 50% of the white tigers in captivity. They have a very impressive "China Treasures Zone" with pandas, rare golden monkeys and red (lessor) pandas, and an "Australian Zone" with koalas (the only koala in capitivity in mainland China), kangaroos, wallabies and emus.
Located 35mins from Guangzhou City, it is a facsinating and educational place to visit.
