Confused about Baiyun

by walterwu

Will be arriving at Baiyun International Airport at about midnight.

Was looking up this Baiyun International Airport Hotel and couldn't locate it on Google Earth. Most travel (hotels booking) websites says about 27km or more from the Airport itself. On some maps, it shows it is mid-way between the Airport and the Railway Station.

To make matters worse, there's a Baiyun Hotel marked on Google and doesn't look anything like the hotel photos.

Are these 2 hotels different or the same one?

RE: Confused about Baiyun

by walterwu

Ok. Managed to have it sorted out.

Apparently, the new Baiyun International Airport is much further north and I was confused with the old Baiyun Airport in which alot of Google users had marked it, also, as the Baiyun Airport.

Seems like the Baiyun International Airport Hotel is next to the old airport complex.

Yes, you are right! They are different! Baiyun International Airport Hotel is located at Airport Road, 27 km away from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. And the Baiyun Hotel is located at the city center of Guangzhou. It’s far from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. For more info U can link this website: www.ecomeego.com (.Pay attention that there is hotel in the south of Guangzhou new Baiyun international hotel)

Cathedral of the Sacred Heart

by Willettsworld

The 58m/190ft high Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Yide Lu Street is the largest Roman Catholic church in China. The French architects Vonutrin and Humbert built it between 1863 and 1888 in Neo-Gothic style out of granite that was transported from Kowloon in Hong Kong. The land was granted to France as compensation for its loses during the Second Opium War. Its four bells were cast in France as were the stained-glass windows.
