Airport to East Asia Hotel byTaxi

by Elysium31

Can anyone please tell me what is the best way to negotiate price from the airport to East Asia Hotel, Guangzhou?

How much should this approximately cost?

Should I negotiate a price before I get in or ask to put the meter on?

Taxis are metered and it should cost you some 180 RMB. If you arrive late at night, you'll find some guys who drive their own private car but they'll try to charge you more than a regular taxi.

There are about 4 different shuttle buses if you're looking for a cheaper option.

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Disco.

by Guantanamera

Xiujuan took me out dancing one night at a Guangzhou disco... I'm not sure the name of the place or exactly where it was though I believe it was somewhere between Ouzhuang and Dongshan... It was a large club with multiple floors and the level we went to had a bar serving mostly just beer and a fairly good sized dance floor... It was pretty crowded and lots of people dancing... Guangzhou disco dancing is usually a bit formal and prescribed in comparison with Western styles but there are some girls and guys that know how to get crazy once in a while...! We danced to several songs, most of them contemporary disco music with a techno accentuation, and had a great time!

Xiguan Ancient Grand House

Xiguan Ancient Grand House
It is the grand house built by the rich and powerful families during Qing Dynasty. These buildings are grand and bright. Halls and gardens are combined with each other and decorated brilliantly. The basic layout is symmetry of 3 rooms with two corridors. The hall in the middle is the main hall. Along the axis, there is porch, Entrance Hall (men guano Hall), Sedan Hall (tea hall), main Hall (grand hall or gods hall), Tou Hall (the senior hall), the Second Hall (kitchen hall), the Second Room (the last room). Each hall is one depth.

Ziwang museum is the right place to see it.

Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King

by Willettsworld

The Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King was opened in 1988 at the site of the tomb of the second Nanyue King, Zhao Mei of the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-24 A.D.), which was discovered by chance in June 1983. The museum exhibits over 11,000 relics from the tombs as well as other pieces such as a collection of 400 ceramic pillows and bronzes unearthed in other tombs nearby. But the highlight of the museum is a silk-jade shroud made up of 2,291 pieces of jade. Though jade garments with pieces connected by gold, silver, or copper are not uncommon, this garment with jade pieces connected by silk is the only one of its kind in the world. In addition, three sets of bronze serial bells, thirty-six bronze vessels, thirty-six bronze mirrors, and three gold seals give visitors a glimpse of the ancient Nanyue Culture.
