Weather should be cool during that period...
Finding a Halal restaurant can be a big task in China (except western china).
Good luck in finding one.

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Guangzhou Tip

by FrankWills

Tring to find the right train to board & very little information in English. Was saved by a young boy, probably about 13, who after looking at my ticket rushed me through the throng to the right car on the right train with about 30 seconds to spare. Probably over tipped him but felt he was worth it

Shenzhen to Guangzhou

by yellowbell

From Lo Wu KCR Station, we turned right after immigration and went further until end of the Lo Wu Mall. At the ground floor of the mall is a bus station. We asked for a bus bound for Guangzhou. It's aquamarine color bus. Bottled water is free on board but since I didn't understand if it's for sale, I only got to enjoy the drink on my way back to Shenzhen. Be prepared to do your sign language as your English is of no help here. Fare is HKD 60 and the journey takes 2 hours. We got off at the central bus station where there is so much chaos inside and outside.

Orchid Garden

by joecooper

The Orchid Garden provides an oasis of calm; you'd never think you were in the middle of a huge Chinese city. The garden, as it's name suggests houses over 2000 species of orchid. Unfortunately I did not visit during the correct season so there were only a few flowers to be seen. However, the landscaped gardens are very interesting with ponds, sculptures, pagodas and other plants such as bamboo scattered around. The price of entry includes a voucher for a pot of tea. I enjoyed sitting under the cover of the teahouse listening to the rain pouring down.

2003: one day trip

by Bob_Shan

I arrived GZ in the morning to join a seminar and back in the afternoon. All my time was spent in Gardon Hotel without a single look at the city.

Just a few months before my trip, GZ's first metro line began its commercial operation.
