Re: Phone card

I would like to use the local mobile service because I am calling the locals . So you suggest me to take this CHina Mobile and it cost RMB 50 ? Does the RMB 50 include the talking value ?

Re: Phone card

How long the card will last if I dont use it? Say maybe I will go to China 6 month once a year . Can the sim card last for 6 months without using ? Or I will need to buy another new card each time I go to China ?

China Mobile has best network in China. You can buy a sim card even on the streets.Less than 100RMB usually , includes some talking value.

If you do not want to use it for couple months, you can call China Mobile service line 10086 to stop the service. It charges about 5RMB per month, the simcard will be still valid. If you want to use it again, call 10086 to continue the service.

China Mobile uses the GSM network (which I presume is what your handphone uses) and the coverage is generally quite good.
The selling price and encoded credit value on SIM cards can vary widely and might not necessarily be directly related to each other.
If you add credit to the SIM card, it will also increase its validity. I think adding 100 RMB extends it for another 3 months.

Communist Church

Communist Church at Shamien, probably they pray for Karl Marx, Lenin & Jesus Christ, or probably they display the sculptor of Karl Marx inside with joss sticks and Chairman Mao's poster and they burn hell money...

Guangzhou Huo Che Zhan

Guangzhou Main Train Station is conveniently reached by taking the metro as you can see by the metro map here. This is the biggest train station in Guangzhou and will probably be the one you will use to get to most provinces of China, however, it does not have trains to Hong Kong as those trains use the Guangzhou East Train Station. Trains to Beijing take approximately 24 hours and Shanghai is 27 hours (slower train).

There is also a CITS office right next to the main train station as well as two large long distance bus stations, McDonald's, various hotels, etc...

Flower Pagoda

by Willettsworld

The Flower Pagoda (Hua Ta) was built at the same time as the original temple in AD 537 but was later rebuilt in 1097. It was rebuilt again in 1373 after a fire in the early Ming Dynasty period, and restored in 1900. The 187-ft (57m) high octagonal pagoda has become a symbol of the city and appears to have nine stories from the outside, but in fact has a total of 17. It is crowned by a richly decorated bronze column weighing 5 tonnes. It's a hard climb to the top but the views are worth it

Open: 8am-5pm. Admission: RMB5 plus RMB10 to climb the pagoda.
