thanks a lot. will be going soon but still dont know where to visit....
It is hard to give directions as teh roads changes often, the zoo in Panyu is close to the highway from Guangzhou, once you enter Panyu there is road signs. My friend owns a condo called Star River, the zoo is not far from there on the opposite side of the Huanan Expressway
Here's an extract from the travel page to Guangzhou Panyu Xiangjiang Safari Park
How to get there: Take buses No. 247, 221, 512, 202, 562, 530, 282, 288, 522, 225, 247 and 512.
If you go there by your own car, you can take one of the following routes:
1, Guangzhou Dadao South→ Luoxi Bridge → Zhongcun National Road 105 →Xiangjiang Safari Park.
2. Huangpu Dadao → Huanan Expressway → Panyu Bridge → Yinbin Road →Xiangjiang Safari Park.

Travel Tips for Guangzhou
Xiangjiang Safari Park (II) Tourist Info
Details of going to Xiangjiang Safari Park:
Located in Guangzhou, Panyu. Yingbin Rd, Dashi Town.
Travel: If by MRT, nearest would be Hanxi Chimelong station
If by buses, can take bus 202, 221, 247, 512, 530 or 562. You will not miss the Xiangjiang zoo bus station because the station is all the way into the zoo front entrance. (Unless you're sleeping.) :) Personally, I take bus 512 from Tienhe Bei Rd and it cost me only $3RMB! My bus trip took me around an hour.
Price: $120 RMB for adult, $60 RMB for kids between 1.1 to 1.4m, $60 RMB for senior citizens 65 years and above but must show ID. Think it's free for kids below 1.1m.
Opening hours: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. I highly recommend that you go early in the morning, when it opens at 9.30 am. Reasons being it will not be too hot to walk around the zoo, it's feeding time around then and you will be able to catch glimpse of the animals when they are still quite active. When it gets to the afternoon, you'll see most of the animals sleeping, boring!
Route: I would recommend you take the free train ride into the safari first (before the queue gets long), then take your time to walk around their pedestrian area. Plan your travel route so that you're able to catch their free animal shows. The white tiger show is quite good.
The Market in front of the Island
Cantonese people are known to eat anything! Just go to this market and see! If you see here dogs and cats alive, people buy them to eat.
Unfortunately, I visited this market at the end of a Saturday and I had no opportunity to see all the shops open.
Guangzhou 2004 - 2005
Our first trip on the Guangzhou Hash Run was...well...interesting. Stephanie, Heather, and I went out for what we thought was a casual run followed be a social beer. We we mistaken! The run was an hour and a half of scrambling up mountains and crawling through bushes. We were even attacked by hornets (ahh!). The 'social' drinking that followed was a series of accusations and songs, where all the drinks were served in blue bedpans. While it sounds quite disturbing, it was actually a very good time. Consequently, Steph and I have made regular runs and plan to return to the run in September. On on.
"Always something new..."
The most recent new thing.... Bob's getting married!!!
Tim, her fiance, is fantastic...as is she....
Marrying in May...so soon...so great!
"New House, New Job, Old Friends"
So, I've moved up in the world....
I have a good job
I have a nice house
And I still have great friends, who like to visit my new house!
