Bus from Shenzhen to Guangzhou

by gerardlim

Hi all,

A friend from Lowu, Shenzhen is coming over and finding an alternative to the train which is a bit expensive (at 75rmb). Are there buses from Lowu Station to Guangzhou? How much does a trip cost and how long will it take?

Thanks in advance! :)

I would take the train. It costs 10 yuan more but seldom gets held up like the busses do. I have had bus trips from Guangzhou to Shenzhen take three hours!

The CRH (D trains) only depart from Shenzhen. As clearly indicated above, some trains leave from Shenzhen, others from Shenzhen West. Shenzhen train station does NOT serve exclusively D trains!

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Guangzhou is one of the 24...

by zqboy

Guangzhou is one of the 24 cities which are the first to have been announced as famous cities of historic and cultural interest in China.
The history of 2,200 years has left behind many places of historic interest and scenic beauty. They are vivid witness of past brilliance of Guangzhou.

As early as in the 9th century B.C, together with the Chu people on the middle reaches of the Yangtse River, people there built Chuting, then they established Nanhai Prefecture in the Qin Dynasty, and Nanyue Kingdom in the Western Han Dynasty.¡. Guangzhou is the starting point of the Silk Road on the Sea which links China with the Arabian and Western countries in trading. Before the Qing Dynasty, Guangzhou was China's only foreign trade port at sea. She has the longest history among the international trade port cities in the world. Silk, porcelain and tea are the three main foreign trade commodities in Guangzhou in ancient times.

Guangzhou is also the hotbed of modern Chinese democratic revolution and cradle of modern civilization.

Best local food

by Bob_Shan about Bing Sheng (炳胜) Sea Food restaurant

A great place if you want to taste the best Cantonese dishes while do not want to pay a premium for unnecessarily luxury settings.

It is a big, stand-alone building with several floors of tables. You'd better make a reservation before you go, because there are always a long queue.

The boss owns 3 other restaurants in Guangzhou, all very nice, you may want to check them out (see attached pictures)

CNY 100 each person is already a big treat. Pig legs, Shrimp sashimi, soups, BBQ pork (cha-shao)

Yuexiu Park

Yuexiu Park is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower (home of the Guangzhou City Museum), the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site.
