Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Shop and God

by l_joo

Shop and God, is a tip about a shop in Guangzhou where God is involved. In fact, not many God in China but nowadays some peoples installed an altar inside or in front of their shops, it is believe God can bring good fortunes to their business. Although I don't know what kind of God it was but it is definitely a God.

Streets of Guangzhou.

by Guantanamera

A lot of the streets in central Guangzhou are very large and wide, so much so that it would be almost impossible to cross their heavy traffic without the aid of the overhead walkways you see in the photo here... These walkways are fairly prevelant in Guangzhou although there are also some underpasses as well and the usual crosswalks at traffic lights on the less busy streets... But in general, Guangzhou traffic is extremely chaotic and crazy by Western standards... I think Austrians would never leave their hotel rooms in this city...!

Huaisheng Mosque

by keeweechic

The Huaisheng Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in China. It was constructed during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The 1,000-year-old Smooth Tower (or Guangta) is a 36 metre tall brick smooth structure is designed surprisingly in an Arabic style. Inside the mosque complex is a Praying Hall and other buildings.
