Take the bus

In 1987 there were 2 kinds of buses that I remember. The electric trolley kind and regular ol' gas ones. There were also regular size buses and some that were double in length. There was a pretty decent bus map available which I don't have anymore but it showed the routes with the bus numbers that ran on the street that you might like be be on. I rode the bus several times and it worked quite well for me...I didn't always get off exactly where I wanted to as the buses were extremely crowded and I usually missed my stop and would get off at the next one. If you don't like being shoved, pushed and packed in like a sardine you will probably want to avoid riding these buses! But they are a great way to get to feel like a local. I didn't have any problem with pickpocketers but I'm sure there are some outthere looking for some free stuff! The tickets for the buses were very, very cheap! Just pennies would get you across town!!

Aha, this is another supermarket chain in Guangzhou, named Wan Jia store. Wan Jia and Parknshop are competitors, and there are always price wars between these two competitors... Of course, I WELCOME that!!!! ;-))
