Of course there are a lot of lovely night clubs and bars in Guangzhou as it's one of the motropolitan cities. You can find most of them around Huang Shi Dong Road. If you don't like noisy places and just want to stay a night in a small place with some drinks and music and even, travel books, maps or even travel imformation, then 'Let's Go Bar' should be an ideal place for you to pop in.
Decorated with some lovely pictures taken everywhere on travel and travel books around the wall, the bar has a good atmosphere for travelers. It has slide show once a week (need to be confirmed on which day); Travel English courses free of charge. There are two floors, with a big terrace. If you want to find some partners to some long or short distance travel, they have some message board for you to check or leave messages.

Yuexiu Park and the Sculpture of the 5 Rams

by herzog63

While walking within the 58 Hectares of the Yuexiu Park I came across the Sculpture of the 5 Rams. The legend behind the sculpture is something about five celestial beings riding through the air on rams to bring rice to the first settlers of the area. It is considered to be a sign that people would never suffer from famine here.I'm not sure if it worked but seems to have!! It was a pleasant area up on a hill. There are a couple of different paths to take to get here.

Temple of Bright Filial Piety - Part 1

by Willettsworld

The Temple of Bright Filial Piety on Jinghau Road, a short distance from the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Guangzhou and was the mansion of Prince Zhao Jiande of the Nanyue Kingdom during the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-A.D.24).

The temple was initially built by an Indian monk during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317- 420) but the present temple, occupying an area of 31,000 square meters, dates from the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). The temple has an important place in Buddhist history as Huineng of the Zen Buddhist sect was a novice monk here in the 7th century. In 1151 the building received its present name. Of the original 30 temples and palaces only about ten have survived.
