    This hotel was the first place that I have ever stayed in China during my first visit in October 2005. I didn't know a three star hotel could offer so much until I stayed there. Clean rooms, nicely furnished, every floor was attended 24 hours. I spent more time in the coffee shop on the first floor than anywhere else in the hotel. Good coffee and wonderful staff. I learned all the Chinese that I know today from them. The restaurants were of course Cantonese which is like a horror movie for me. When I was forcefully taken to the second floor restaurant the first time, I tried so hard to not to shake, faint, or be disrespectful to the patrons eating there. Just the idea of sleeping in my third floor room right above the restaurant kept me awake for hours each night. This is all my deficieny I know, I respect a culture with all of its different dimensions, but next time I will get a room on higher floors.

    It was arranged through our travel agency, so I am thinking it must be feasible, what I know is it was definitely neat, clean, well kept. So worth the money I should say.

    Also try to take a walk outside the hotel, the side streets behind the hotel are the scenes of the nicest pictures I have taken in Guangzhou. (I take pictures of beaten up, dilapidated buildings, so you figure it out). Seriously though, I think it will give you immediate exposure to daily life in China. It is real and that is what counts for me.
