Visit the White Swan, even if it is just to check out the beautiful lobby and the shops in the basement. The bookstore had things I wasn't able to find anywhere else on my trip, such as bilingual childrens books. The china dolls in the shop across from the bookstore are beautiful and not at all expensive.I miss the friends that we made everywhere, such as Lily at China Life, Sherry at Sherry's Place, and Anne at China Doll. My favorite memory is leaving the Consulate knowing that all I had to do was get on a plane and Linnea was ours according to both our government and the government of China.
