Mao's Institute for Peasant... by Kibster
Mao's Institute for Peasant Revolt. Located on the site of a 14th Century Confucian monastery, it is very peaceful in the midst of this bustling city. The pictures of these students, nearly all of whom died very young and violently, along with the restored dorms and classrooms, is very moving and helps you understand the passions behind the Communist Revolution.Just taking my Fodor's guide and wandering the streets, looking for places referenced.
