GZ Railway like what was mentioned before is "the" place for wholesale deals in GZ. To get the best deals you need to buy some larger amounts, though. It's very large in size and could take you a full day to browse the whole area (many buildings/shops). There are many food options near the Garden hotel in GZ. It's not close to the GZ Railway for your clothes deals but there's a subway right outside the hotel that you can take to get to GZ Railway for real cheap. I know one restaurant that is Halaal near the Garden Hotel (but I'm sure there's many more). It's called Ottoman Empire and is near the GZ Friendship store, which you can see directly across the street from the Garden Hotel.

tq for all the answers. I just came back from GZ. I stayed in Liuhua Hotel which is 4 star hotel .The hotel staff were very friendly, even the frontline staff can understand English which is very important to foreigners like myself. If anybody want to buy shirt/tshirt for men, the wholesale place is just behind the hotel and from the hotel(3 minutes walk), it is connected. You can purchase branded shirt such as Giorgio armani/ Burbery/ BOSS for RMB 30 only.Even two piece soccer Jersey price range RMB 35 to RMB 45.

I went to KIdcity which is located at Chong Sam Pa lu.Branded shirt/gown/tshirt for kids available such as GAP/NEXT/Burberry/ Oshkosh etc. Shoes for kids such as adidas/nike/etc.

I also went to Baiyun Leather world which is nearby which sell all the branded item handbags such as coach/lv/burberry/marc jacob/bally/juicy couture etc

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Visit the White Swan, even if...

by kimberbakos

Visit the White Swan, even if it is just to check out the beautiful lobby and the shops in the basement. The bookstore had things I wasn't able to find anywhere else on my trip, such as bilingual childrens books. The china dolls in the shop across from the bookstore are beautiful and not at all expensive. I miss the friends that we made everywhere, such as Lily at China Life, Sherry at Sherry's Place, and Anne at China Doll. My favorite memory is leaving the Consulate knowing that all I had to do was get on a plane and Linnea was ours according to both our government and the government of China.

Going to Fangcun.

by Guantanamera

In order to get from central Guangzhou to the Fangcun district (just southeast of the city center) you'll need to go across the Pearl River somehow. The most expensive and roundabout choice is to take a taxi. Or, as shown in the map here, you could take the metro. But if you are in Shamian Dao or the Huangsha area, instead of paying 2 yuan for the metro, you can take a ferry across the water for only .50 yuan!

Mosque dedicated to the Prophet

by Willettsworld

This mosque also goes by several other names such as the Huaisheng Mosque and Lighthouse Mosque due to its 36 foot tall tower which served as a beacon for sailors. It is said to have been founded during the Tang dynasty over 1,300 years ago by Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas who was an uncle of the Prophet Muhammad which, therefore, makes it one of the oldest mosques in China. He was on his first Muslim mission to China in the 630s. The mosque was rebuilt in 1350 then in again in 1695 after being destroyed in a fire. Unfortunately, non-Muslims are not allowed to visit.
