Where is TCM University? There are some apartments for short rental in Guangzhou. You can find a decent fully furnished one/two bedroom apartment with kitchen and batheroom around 100- 180rmb/day. But you may want one near your university? I can find some links of those agents and send to you if you need it.

Won't the university have a student hostel? Or, is it going to be far from the hospital?

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Homelessness

by Guantanamera

The homelessness situation in Guangzhou is not much different than it is in many large cities of the Western world (excluding Santa Monica where of course the situation is magnified several times over!)... From time to time, you will occasionally come across homeless people trying to eke out an existence on the dingy stony sidewalks... Most of them are not there by choice although an old Chinese proverb says that after being a beggar for three days, you wouldn't want to trade places with an emperor... And Mao Zedong himself once voluntarily lived as a beggar for a period of time, as a kind of experiment... It would be fascinating to learn the whole truth about the life stories of these often troubled travelers, who are caught in the cold winds of a witless world...

Hui Lau Shan opens first branch in Guangzhou!

by Confucius about Hui Lau Shan

My favorite fresh fruit snack restaurant chain in Hong Kong has just opened its first branch in Guangzhou. Now you can enjoy the popular Hong Kong treats on the streets of Guangzhou, just one block west of bustling Beijing Street.
There is seating upstairs overlooking the busy Guangzhou intersection where the shop is located.
Try the fresh mango juice or go for one of the big mixed fruit desserts with coconut or mango sorbet.
Hui Lau Shan has gone international with branches now in Taiwan, Singapore, and USA. The Guangzhou branch opened in June 2004 and instantly became a trendy meeting place for young women who go there before and after shopping. Papaya Juice with Coconut Milk

Sacred Heart Church.

by Guantanamera

The only other Christian church in the world that creates the kind of stunning surrealistic impact of Guangzhou's Sacred Heart Church would have to be St.Patrick's Cathedral in midtown Manhattan... Both churches are beautifully grotesque Gothic architectures, set amidst a more modern-style network of structures which surround them. Although Guangzhou and New York are very very different in style, both scenes create the same stirring sense of the surreal... Shown here, a close up of Sacred Heart Church and its twin spires...
