Wholesale

by leongkitty

Hi, I'll be travelling to Guangzhou in May. Can anyone pls tell me where are the wholesale area for Men/Ladies Apparel, Children Apparel and Accessories(Earrings, belt, fashion necklace)? Been to Baima last year during a short trip. But its not what I'm looking for. Too expensive. Tks in advance!

There are a lot of places near the main railway station. In particular just opposite. Or turn right out of the station for footwear, or left out of the station, then left again at the roundabout, for leather goods (belts, handbags but not clothes).

Most of the stuff can be found in the wholesale buildings around Guangzhou main train station.
For children's wear, look on Zhongshan Balu.

Actually now I think about it, Baima (white horse) building os one of those opposite the railway station! So either you're looking for some basic and low-grade items, or your haggling skills need honing!

Shoe market is more between beijinglu and haizhu square. There are also belt streets there!

Hi, tks a lot for all ur replies. Yah, Baima's oso near the main train station(liuhua). That's where I went during my last trip. The clothings are real expensive! Even when Its at wholesale prices. I heard there's another place which sells lots of cheaper range apparels. Btw, which hotel would u suggest? Was thinking of Guangdong Victory Hotel, Guangdong Hotel(Stayed there during my last trip) or Canton Landmark Hotel. Which is more centralise? As in near to wholesale markets. Thanks in advance for all ur kind replies!

Football in the park

by Jello_B

In the YueXiu park, there is a football stadium were the local heroes of GuangZhou football team are playing.

We paid 20 RMB each to see a game in the second highest division in China. The level of the teams were horrible, but it was something that you just have to see if you are a football fan. The stadium is quite big, i woukd guess that it can take 15 000 in the stands. One stand is seating and looks quite ok. Watch out for litle kids pissing every were. You don't wanna sit in their urine.
