Guangzhou hotel

by ranmeg

Hi, I'm going to Guangzhou in early June for SHOPPING ONLY :)
Could someone pls recommend a clean reasonably priced hotel where there is a subway nearby and malls the minute I step out of the hotel.
My price about 400 RMB for 2 people. Is that a tall order? Pls help.

Look for a hotel around Haizhu Square. That might be your best bet.
Your price range should be achievable.

I just spend five nights in Guanzhou hotel and made a tip out of it. If you wish to read it feel free at: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/850c4/f8793/3/#1700798

I have no complaints of the hotel but be aware that they serve only Asian breakfast. We went to a Blentz coffee across the road and had our mornign cup of coffee and a sandwich over there (two persons 10 euros).

Temple of the Five Celestial Beings Bell.

by Guantanamera

During the Ming Dynasty, a bell tower was built adjacent to the temple. It was apparently destroyed by a fire in 1864 but then re-built again. Today you can see the reconstructed Ming Tower and even climb it to have a look at the original Ming Dynasty bell itself, which ways about 5 tons! That's about 4500 kilograms! Shown here is a photo of the bell...

This page is going to take awhile to build, patience please.

I was in Guanzhou as part of one of my MBA classes. Most of the trip was dedicated to visiting factories so I will be posting some of that in the off the beaten path part of the page.
