I have not flew into the new Guangdong airport yet but if it is same as the Beijing and Shanghai airports you will find China Mobile booths along the way that sells pre-paid SIM cards, usually 250 RMB each (need to draw some RMB at the first ATM).
You will have to pay a small fee for incoming calls but whether they are international or not they will be considered local calls only.

250RMB? Thats an awfully high price!!The airport must be making a nice profit from that!! Usually you can buy SIM cards startng from 40RMB. I wouldnt pay more than 100RMB for a SIM card. If you wanted free incoming international calls you would have to have a chinese resident card and be signed up that way..a traveller cannot get a SIM card like that otherwise its all pay as you go and you pay for incoming and outgoing calls no matter where they are from.

yes but they do come with the new SIM card and also can be used for long distance, I guess either do that or go to one of the booth at the street corners.

just to be clear, the 250RMB SIM card include airtimes, not just the cost of the SIM card

Travel Tips for Guangzhou

Tianhe District.

by Guantanamera

Tianhe District in East Guangzhou is one of the major shopping areas in Guangzhou, especially when it comes to computers and electronics, although there are many other shops in this area, which is also occupied by the GZ offices of Microsoft and IBM as well as the vast Tianhe Sports Center... Some of the more well known shopping centers currently include Teem Plaza (TeeMall), Tianhe Shopping Center and the brand new Grandview Mall, which opened in 2005... Shown in this pic from the GZ metro map, Ti Yu Zhong Xin station, one of the most convenient to Tianhe District, along with the Tiyu Xilu station...

Safari Park To See The Pandas

by Mikebb

The safari park looked modern and large, ideal for children and adults and I would believe it was similar to the various theme parks we have at home.

Our visit was limited to 30 minutes. We were driven to the Giant Panda enclosure to view the Pandas. They were resting in the long grass and did not want to come forward so we could see them. A gamekeeper went into the enclosure and moved the Panda forward which enabled us to have a good view. It was nice to see a Panda as there are not many left on this planet and breeding programs are slow.

GUANGZHOU - GUILIN

by viajeromaga

Guangzhou is a civilized ancient city. It is 2,100 years old, the same age as the world-renowned ancient cultural city Rome of Italy. A modern city in China, Guangzhou is the political, economic, educational, cultural as well as scientific and technological center in South China. It is also a tourist city. Being a big city, Guangzhou totals 7547 square kilometres with a population of some 6.56 million. Under its administration are four county-level cities of Huadu, Conghua, Zengcheng and Panyu and eight districts: Yuexiu, Dongshan, Haizhu, Litchi, Tianhe, Fangcun and Whampu. It is a well-known hometown of the overseas Chinese. About 500,000 countrymen from here are residing in some 90 countries and regions abroad.

Guangzhou is situated in the south of China with the Baiyun Hill in the north and the Zhujiang (the Pearl River ) Delta Plain in front. Three rivers, the Dongjiang, Xijiang and Beijiang converge here. The Zhjiang passes through the city. With rivers and mountains, its geological location is very advantageous.
