I wanted to visit Beijing during my stay in HK .. unfortunately that didnt work out so jz decided to hop on the train and visit my `motherland' instead.. hahahaha.. after all, I did do India some years back after all.
We didnt really go very far into the province as it was smack during the SARS outbreak (despite the warnings, we still decided to just go up to China just to see how the Republic looks like). Journey from HK via train was not all that tiresome although do remember that visa's are a must and the immigration procedure can be rather irritating. For ppl on the shopping bug, do go but remember to bargain and be careful of your wallets - its a pickpocket haven.
