Introduction to Qingyuan, GD
"General"
There must be at least 200 cities like this in China. Qingyuan is neither better nor worse than most of them. Right now all of China is a building site, and that of course includes Qingyuan, where traffic is seriously disrupted while a new bridge is built alongside the current one, to double the width.
The main part of the city is on the north side of the river (Bei Jiang) but the newer commercial zones are on the south side.
"Getting there"
There is a railway station, but it is a long way out of town. The main bus station is reasonably central, but on the south side, in Fengming Lu just off the main road south (Qingguang Dadao). Local buses offer a frequent service from the bus station - # 5, 6, 7, 14 etc.
There is an old bus station on the north side, for getting minbuses to local out of town destinations. That's not far up Beimen Jie.
