Wasn't pleasant
We stayed in Ambassador Hotel for 2 days during our stay in Shen Zhen. I would not recommend this hotel to a family group, the guests are allowed to smoke in every room, thus making the room stinks of cigarette. I did not know this beforehand, and since we came during peak days, we couldn't change to other hotels with the same budget.
When we told the staff about the room being smelly, all the did was took the ashtrays from the room (like that would've made any difference).
The staff doesn't speak English, which makes it a lot difficult to communicate, and when i asked if there is any minimarket around, without telling me, they asked me what i needed and wouldn't answer my question, instead, they took out mineral water - no complimentary mineral water in the room and gave us a more expensive price (as expected).
The rooms are poorly lighted. The bathroom is even worst.
Overall, it wasn't a pleasant stay.

Ambasador Hotel
This is a 3 star hotel, located very near to the shopping street "Dongmen Rd" But you still need to take a cab to get there.
I was very old and lots of mainland visitors in this hotel, so its very noisy.
The breakfast is Yukkk! The buffet breakfast dun serve coffee, (as the chinese drinks tea). The servings also Yukk! Beef Ball, Bun (that taste like stone-very hard), porridge - among all is the bettter taste.
The lighting in the room , is another problem, very dim and it blinks like a disco. Oh no....I would not stay there again.

Shenzhen's comfy hotel
Pretty typical hotel, compared to western hotels. Language barrier with the staff, but we can manage. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Unique Quality: Our stay includes a breakfast buffet, Chinese style. The food was so-so; don't get me wrong I love Chinese food. This one was an all carb breakfast. I guess it's better than nothing.

Hotel to Stay near Dong Men
Ambassador is a three star hotel and located near the shopping district.
The hotel got 260 rooms, the room are okay, clean, slightly big rooms, and good amenities.
Breakfast is included on room charge, its buffet breakfast at their ground floor restaurant.. It got a lot of selection of local Cantonese food, (a lot of noodles & dimsums). .
.
Only set back here is the hotels staff could not understood English, (except probably for the cashier) even basic tourist questions. I even resulted to sign language,
Good thing a fellow guest that could understand English and speaks Chinese help me explain it to the concierge..

Distance from the railway station ( Km ):2.5
One advantage of the hotel is its location, there are a lot of banks just outside the hotel where you easily change your money (be prepared to have your passport checked).
Also at night, its walking distance to Dong Men Night Market.. great place to shop for bags, clothes, shoes, but be prepared to bargain.
