most restaurants in China has vegetables dishes, just order the vegetables and rice as a entree. There are a lot of places with picture menus, use them if you can not navigate the menu

There are also Buddhist restaurants too. Chinese seem to respect Buddhism more than straight vegetarianism. The one I remember hearing about is Jianhaige which is mentioned on this list which is a bit old now but I think the ones mentioned are still there.

Travel Tips for Shenzhen

Department Store in Dongmen

by arni_ph075 about MOI Department Store

MOI is a medium size department store along Dongmen Road. Open until 9pm (or is it 8pm only.?.)
Dongmen is considered to be the busiest commercial district of Shenzhen.

Its well lit, clean and easy to browse through as selections are sorted well..They usually got Sale Sale items, and its price are very low already.
Prices are okay specially on the clothes and gift items. (you cannot bargain). There are wide range of women and mens clothes, jewelries, cosmetics, perfumes and gift items. All at affordable prices. Payments could be in RMB or HK$

Border crossing at Lowu border

by SLLiew

Most tourists or business travellers from Kowloon will take the train to Lowu for a land crossing.

At Lowu border, there is usually 30 minutes to 1 hour waiting time to cross the border depending on the time of the day and whether it is a weekend or around public holidays.

As it can be crowded, be careful of your passport, wallet and luggage.

On the China side of Lowu, you can continue on a train, bus or taxi to other parts of Shenzen or other towns in Guangdong province.

Excursions to a Border Town

"Tales from a HK Expat Wife"

This month, I pried myself away from the hallowed shopping grounds of Luohu Shopping Mall to a military themed park called Minsk World. I'm not much of a military buff and was only drawn there when Hubby told that the park grounds included a humungous ex-Soviet aircraft carrier. I've never been inside any Russian War Machine so off I went, like a willing Jonah into the mouth of a metal military whale.
