Hello,my friend and I will be in Shenzhen from 27-30 Jan. We will be staying at the Greentree Inn Dongmen. We are planning to take a bus from the airport to the hotel or somewhere near the hotel. Can anyone tell me which bus to take. Is it the bus 330 or bus no. K568. Do we need to buy a bus ticket at the counter? Where should we get down that is nearest to the hotel. Walking distance if possible. If it is too far to walk, how much would it cost to take a taxi to the hotel. Thank you.
Take bus 330 till its final terminus at Shenzhen train station, then a taxi to your hotel.

Taxi should cost less than RMB130 depending on traffic but could even be cheaper.
I am fairly sure you buy the ticket on the bus -you do for the ones going to Shekou. I would take the 330 rather if you intend going to the station and then taxi to hotel (taxi would be RMB20 from there or less) Shenzhen taxi flagfall is RMB 10 and includes first 2.5 kilometer (it maybe 3K)
If you are taking a taxi then go to the official stand don't use touts. You need to take a taxi for within the SEZ (Maroon with silver roof colour) or Gold but don't get in a line for a Green one as they can't go where you want. Also have the address in Chinese for the cab driver to read. If you have problems just ask someone in the queue, plenty of people using the airport speak English (assuming you don't speak Chinese).
At the town centre of Fuyong town (located just next to Shenzhen airport) is a new shopping centre called Yong Ann Nan Cheng Department Store which is worth checking out. The town square is near to this shopping centre as well.

When shopping in Shenzhen, one must practice the art of haggling. How to do this?? Don't be ashamed to bargain down the price to 20% of the original price. If the seller does not agree with your price, pretend to walk away and they will surely ask you to come back and compromise for a price. If you feel that your price is enough and their price is too steep, be adamant with your demand. and they will surely give in to you =)
Shenzhen is the GEM of China's SEZ cities(special economic zone), this city never sleeps, very modern, very young and 1 of the more properous cities in Asia. I was truly amazed at the friendliness. The foods are from all different provinces since the city itself is so young and the population comes from all over China. You can have a Cantonese breakfast, Guangdong lunch and Hunan dinner(real Hunan, HOT). The shopping malls are nothing short of spetacular but the real bargains await the smart shopper in the markets. Also in the Futian district you will find some nice theme parks; Splendid China and Window of the Worlds are both great. I would wake in the mornings and jog around the streets in the Luoho district, it was very nice and never did I feel intimidated. Did I mention I traveled alone on business, crossed the Chinese border from Hong Kong at about 11:00 PM at night and had no troubles at all. People have a lot of misconceptions about alot of places and this is one. I highly enjoyed my time there and made a few friends that I am still in contact with. Next on my list for China is Beijing and Chengde.
Every bit as modern as any city in the world. Alot of large corporations are moving their headquarters to Shenzhen.
