Li Zhi Park(Lychee Park)
by THLIN
If there is a Central Park in New York, Botanic Garden in Singapore, and Da-an Park in Taipei, there must have been a very important park in ShenZhen. Well, this is it...Li Zhi Park. This park locates in downtown ShenZhen, visitors can easily find it either by metro or bus. If you are taking metro, please take to Da-ju-yuan station and get off at exit B. In the park you can see and make real contact with the locals. I hardly feel so relaxed when I am here, most probably because I work here.
There are many sections in the park, the huge lake, even though it's horribly dirty, visitor can rent a boat and ride on it; there are chess area, you can see people playing Chinese chess; there is a corner for music, even the area is like a place filled with cacophony, but you will still like it, since every performer tries hard to cathch your eyes.
Although I am from Taiwan, but I still respect President Deng Xiao Ping, who was former leader of mainland China and passed away more than a decade ago. He, who led the transformation of Chinese Communist Party and reform the nation, prooved that he is a real statesman. There is a board to memorise him.
ShenZhen Airport to HK via Ferry
by bpacker
If you're short on time and high on cash, then take the most costly transport to HK - the turbo jet ferry@Fuyong Terminal . Taking the ferry means you won't have to:
1)sit beside a maniac for one hour on the bus from the airport to the customs,
2) tear your hair out by lining up at the LuoHu customs
3)share a seat with a fat lady inside the KCR for yet another one hour ride to downtown HK.
The turbo jet ferry can accomodate about 400 people at a time and it won't get caught in traffic. So if you're keen, get your ticket directly outside the departure gates, ride a 5min bus to Fuyong terminal and hop unto to the vessel. You'll be in Kowloon sipping on dahjeerling at the Peninsula before you know it.
Note:The Ferry goes to Macau/Kowloon and HK Airport. Get your tix from the counter outside of the departure gates.
SZ->Macau HK$171
SZ->HK (Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal, Sheung Wan)HK$185
SZ->Kowloon (China (HK) Ferry Terminal, Tsimshatsui) HK$185
cheap buddhist vegetarian restaurant
by zephyrgurl108 about Jin Hai Ge Su Si Guan
Nothing beats this Chinese vegetarian restaurant in terms of food taste, price and location. It's a small no nonsense restaurant which focuses on food quality and service. They have a picture menu so it's easy to order if you're a non-Chinese speaker. Food is brought to you fast, even when the restaurant is full with diners. Everything we've tried has been very satisfactory. Mock roast pepper beef, mock lemon chicken and mock kebabs
