Azalea - Shenzhen Symbol
by RoyJava
As the orchid is the city flower of Singapore the azalea has been selected as the symbol flower of Shenzhen. This flower with strong vitality and named Baojin, too, got so popular because she looks sparkling, bubbling with red, purple, and yellow brilliance.
You can find this flower all over the place. For one moment I thought the azalea has been placed in Shenzhen specially because of Christmas time like we do in Holland.
Wrong idea. Together with the mandarin orange trees and the narcissus the azalea is the main flower. So enjoy the ocean of azalea blossoms, in red, purple and yellow colours ... like the locals do.
Motorcycle is the fastest way on cruising the city
by arni_ph075
In Shenzhen, car is still a luxury to some local people and its migrants from other parts of China.
A lot of people guys and girls drive a motorycycle or bicycle going to work or around the city, as its fast and
a cheaper option than public transpo, esp for short distance. It is amazing to see people riding bikes /motorcycles yet wearing business suits , with its attache case placed at the back.
Helmet seems to be optional too..
On major districts there are no major bike path, and locals sometimes cruise wherever there is a paved road,
so its always recommended to be extra careful, as bicycle driver comes from nowhere (all roads there) and you might collide.
Ive seen tourists almost colliding with bicycle drivers esp at night.

jetskiing in shenzhen
by zephyrgurl108
looking for an adrenaline rush? try jetskiing in any of the "twin" beaches in shenzhen - dameisha or xiaomeisha beach.
it's 50RMB per person (jetski seats 2 customers and 1 guide) per 10 minutes.
dont forget to scream at the top of your lungs as you speed up and make the sea your playground.
this was my first time trying it and i had a LOT of fun.
while dameisha is free, you have to pay an extra 20RMB to get into xiaomeisha beach.
there's also parasailing and cable ride.
