Coach from MetroPark hotel to Macau

by TheAccidentalTourist

Hi all,
Last year in May I was staying in Metropark Hotel Shengzhen. I saw a coach parked outside the main entrance with the sign say to Macau (or maybe Zhuhai).

Can anyone confirm that if I can board the coach from there, if not where is the nearest coach station.

Thanks for your help.

I suggest you try and contact Lee Kwan Bus Line at sales@keekwan.com. Hopefully they speak English. Their website is only in Chinese and I couldn't find out any info. Your alternative would be to take a taxi to Shekou Gang and take a ferry. Alternatively the concierge at the hotel will know. The hotel is owned by China Travel Service (CTS) but I don't think their buses have permits for Macau (Oumen). They may even have a deal with Lee Kwan.

Having just engaged my brain I realise that all you have to do is get a bus from Shenzhen to Gongbei. This is the area of Zhuhai that borders Macau. Be aware that they will probably call Macau Oumen which is its real name.

Thanks for the tips...
I'll take a taxi to Shekou like you said.
Cheers!

There are 2 ways to go to Macau from shenzhen, by boat and bus.

e.g.Shekou Harbour Passenger Terminal to Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal, Metropole Serives Apartment Beverly Plaza Hotel.

It just depends on where you would like to go in Macau.

If you want to know more info, you can search "prdguide" in google, I think you can get the useful info.

Travel Tips for Shenzhen

Azalea - Shenzhen Symbol

by RoyJava

As the orchid is the city flower of Singapore the azalea has been selected as the symbol flower of Shenzhen. This flower with strong vitality and named Baojin, too, got so popular because she looks sparkling, bubbling with red, purple, and yellow brilliance.

You can find this flower all over the place. For one moment I thought the azalea has been placed in Shenzhen specially because of Christmas time like we do in Holland.

Wrong idea. Together with the mandarin orange trees and the narcissus the azalea is the main flower. So enjoy the ocean of azalea blossoms, in red, purple and yellow colours ... like the locals do.

Motorcycle is the fastest way on cruising the city

by arni_ph075

In Shenzhen, car is still a luxury to some local people and its migrants from other parts of China.

A lot of people guys and girls drive a motorycycle or bicycle going to work or around the city, as its fast and
a cheaper option than public transpo, esp for short distance. It is amazing to see people riding bikes /motorcycles yet wearing business suits , with its attache case placed at the back.

Helmet seems to be optional too..

On major districts there are no major bike path, and locals sometimes cruise wherever there is a paved road,
so its always recommended to be extra careful, as bicycle driver comes from nowhere (all roads there) and you might collide.
Ive seen tourists almost colliding with bicycle drivers esp at night.

portofino, shenzhen

by zephyrgurl108 about cafe de roma

The location of this restaurant provides an escape to people who want t forget about China for a while and soak in the Italian ambience. The Portofino complex is a huge land consisting of villas, shops and restaurants. Cafe de Roma is a great place where you can dine al fresco by the square's fountain. They have a comprehensive menu, and some choices for vegetarians. The staff speak English and service is efficient. spaghetti mushroom and veggie pizza

jetskiing in shenzhen

by zephyrgurl108

looking for an adrenaline rush? try jetskiing in any of the "twin" beaches in shenzhen - dameisha or xiaomeisha beach.
it's 50RMB per person (jetski seats 2 customers and 1 guide) per 10 minutes.
dont forget to scream at the top of your lungs as you speed up and make the sea your playground.
this was my first time trying it and i had a LOT of fun.
while dameisha is free, you have to pay an extra 20RMB to get into xiaomeisha beach.
there's also parasailing and cable ride.

One-day trip to Shenzhen from Hong Kong. Places to visit:

- Window of the World - a theme park with miniature of famous places from around the world

- Splendid China - a theme park with miniature of famous places around China mainland.

- China Cultural Folk Village - a theme park with replicas of Chinese villages and tribes. This include the customs of those tribes. In the evening visitors can see a parade.
