Shopping Shenzhen

by vb3196

Hi we are traveling to shenzhen from hong kong and are wondering what is the best day to shop in shenzhen as we have been told it can be very busy on certain days and is there any good places to shop for surf brand clothing

Re: Shopping Shenzhen

by myloveant

If you don't like too busy, you can came shenzhen on Tuesday . I think Tuesday isn't too busy.
Surf brand clothing means imitation clothing ?
if yes ,you can go to shop in DongMen , You can get so many cheap imitation clothing ,
If you like the imitation moblie telephone, you can go to HuaQianBei ,There are so many cheap moblie telephone in HuaQianBei

"busy" is a relative term, compare to many places shopping in Shenzhen is an advanture somewhere between a stampede of bodies and fighting to keep the pickpockets out of your pockets!
LoWu Commercial complex has some selection of surf brand clothing with larger sizes for foreigners but they are limited as there is not really a surfing cult here in China

Yes it is a relative term. Shenzhen is not crowded when compared to the shopping areas of Hong Kong (particularly Kowloon). You can get some surf gear in Shekou which tend to be a bit larger in size. If you are male 170-190cm and 75-90Kg then you should find things easier than if you are bigger. Shoes can be a problem though if your feet are over size 10.

Travel Tips for Shenzhen

Olympic Ice Skating Arena in Shen Zhen

by bpacker

I'm no Peggy Fleming but I do love the Olympic size ice skating rink at the MixC shopping mall, which is incidentally the largest shopping mall around here.

How to go there: By Shenzhen Metro, 3 stops from Lowu, alight at Da Ju Yuan.

Where: MixC is located to Shenzhen's tallest structure, Diwang Building.

Tip: Thursday is Ladies Night (!) so there's discounted entrance fees for the fairer sex. On Wednesdays at 8pm, you can see the more talented skaters perform their routines. There are skates for rental here.

Shenzhen Metro

by THLIN

The most and safest way to travel around in Shenzhen is to take MTR. You can leave LuoHu immigration checkpoint and all the way to ShiJieZhiChung...meaning the window of the world, a local amusement park. The ticket is rather cheap if you want to compare the price with her neighbour city Hong Kong. The line connects most touristic sopts here, and distance between station to staion is not very far; therefore, you can see the downtown easily within few days.

great italian food in the heart of shenzhen

by zephyrgurl108 about foccacino

Foccacino is a nice Italian restaurant in one of the city's latest malls in Futian, Coco Park. They have indoor and outdoor dining, free wireless internet and English speaking restaurant staff. They have expanded their menu to include more vegetarian options and put a symbol next to vege dishes so you wouldn't miss them. Price is average. A good meal withapetizer, main dish and a drink will cost about 50-80 rmb.
Don't forget the tiramisu in this restaurant. italian salad, extra spicy spaghetti arrabiatta, tiramisu

OCT monorail

by zephyrgurl108

for 40 bucks, get a preview of the themeparks in the OCT (overseas chinese town) area of shenzhen. the ride takes around 20 minutes and offers a bird's eye view of OCT's happy valley (thrill rides themepark), window of the world (miniatures of the world's most famous landmarks), and splendid china (miniature and performances of china's different etnic groups and regions).

My City, My Home

by DreamingJosipa

"The city I have lived since I was 10"

This is my home, a new rising city in the south of China. Every single person appears a different colour and tone, colourful people and colourful life, it becomes a impressionistic painting.

"Something in Tawny"

Tawny, is the colour that I am looking for in the city. Sometimes it shows up in the woods; sometimes in your eyes; sometimes in people's mood...
I would take out my camera and record it down.
What colour are you in now?

"Getting late..."
