Entry visa from Shenzhen, exit from Guangzhou

by siewmun

I'm a Malaysian travelling to Shenzhen then onward to Guangzhou via Hong Kong.
Can I apply for tourist visa at Lowu & exit from Guangzhou airport (back to KL)?

Someone told me that if I apply for entry visa in Shenzhen, I must exit via Shenzhen too. Is this true? Can someone please assist? Thank you!

No. Get a China visa before you leave Malaysia.

There used to be a "Shenzhen Visa" (and likewise a Zhuhai one) that was good for five days within the Special Economic Zone". I don't believe it exists any more. You should get a visa before you leave and it will allow entry through any Chinese city and same with exit. Things may change after the 60th anniversary but don't wait to find out.

Travel Tips for Shenzhen

Colorful Cultural show @ Folk Cultural Village

by SLLiew

There are parades and small performances at different locations in the park as well as a major performance to entertain everyone with songs, dance and colorful costumes.

So sit back and enjoy after a long day of walking and photograph taking. Do not missed the shows when you visit the park. Check out the time schedule when you arrive.

Although it does not reflect the real China and more like a Las Vegas style performance, it is a celebration of China's diversity and ethnicity and an entertaining performance for all.

Shen Zhen Metro

A very efficient transport means. It could brings you to many tourist attractions.
We took a ride of 20 minutes from Lao Jie to Window of the World, clean, fast, direct, no hassle (except the rude officer we met)! Moreover, it's very affordable. It costs us RMB 5 per person per trip.

From Luo Wu customs to Lao Jie only costs us RMB 2 only!

1947 indian restaurant

by zephyrgurl108 about 1947 (formerly viceroy sky lounge)

after 6 months since the last time i visited this resto, i found major changes - no more pool table, indian decors, TVs, etc.
it's now more "chinesey" ...but thank goodness, the food is still great!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
what i love about indian restos is that for sure, vegetarians have a whole array of food to choose from there.
what i love about viceroy sky lounge is their food, the spacious and nicely decorated interiors, the indian music videos shown on tvs hanging from the ceiling, great sounds, and the belly dancer! as always, indian breads are heavenly - i had the rotis - grilled ones, for main course the paneer mirch marsala (vegetables in tomato sauce and sour cream), vegetable pakoras (eggplant, potatoes and chilli breaded in garbanzo flour), samosas (mashed potatoes and peas put in pastry and fried) and gulab jammun (sweet balls).
yummmmmmmmmm
Other attractions around Shenzhen and Fuyong
by victorwkf
Besides visiting Shenzhen and Fuyong, there are several other attractions/cities around the area which you can include in your trip. They are as follows:
- Macau (famous for casinos and Portugese architecture)
- Zhuhai (coastal town near to Shenzhen)
- Guangzhou (capital city of Guangdong province, China)
- Hong Kong and Kowloon (one of the most vibrant cities in Asia, please visit my VT Hong Kong and Kowloon pages for more information and photographs)
The attached photographs were taken at Macau.
Day trip to Shenzhen
"A taste of Shenzhen"
Shenzhen is a vibrant city where you can easily visit from Hong Kong. Just hop on the KCR train in Kowloon (http://www.kcr.com.hk/eng/services/routemap/index.asp). The ride is pleasant and you get to see other parts of Kowloon. Shenzhen is one of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in China
