Chinese Balconies
by RoyJava
Continously amazed by the Chinese balconies on television I could see with my own eyes these remarkable sometimes tiny places.
I know when laundry is washed by hand it is the best to dry the laundry on balcony. It will dry by the wind in the fastest way. And throughout Southeast Asia people still do their laundry in this way, no matter regarding washing machines.
Just the enclosing by iron grillwork I do not understand. It looks so under lock and key, so enclosed ... like a tiny jungle.
So many appartments with its own balcony showing the iron grillwork, decorated by several plants with colourful flowers growing in pots. And the ornament of clean linen and coloured washing ...
new underground
by vividvivian
recently Shenzhen introduced a new underground starting from Lo Wu, along all major towns including Lao Jie (Old street) where famous shopping area- East gate located, to the "window of the world". cheap underground ticket, terminal to terminal only 5RMB. one thing would like to talk about is the ticket, their ticket is actually a token and you just punch the token when you use the train service and insert the token when you exit.
shenzhen spaghetti
by zephyrgurl108 about spaghetti house
Vegetarians would find ample choices from the Spaghetti House menu such as minestrone and mushroom soup, eggplant au gratin, onion rings, garlic bread, vegetarian spaghetti, lasagna and pizza, and baked italian style risotto with vegetables (this one has eggs though).
The restaurant in Shenzhen is big, with romantic ambience. It also doesn't hurt that it is inside the city's best mall, so one can enjoy shopping before or after a meal. They are open daily from 10:30 AM to 10PM. My favorite dish from this restaurant is the vegetarian spaghetti and pizza. The eggplant au gratin baked with mozzarella and cheddar cheese is the best appetizer.

experience the WILD side of shenzhen by going to the Safari Park. a huge complex (1.2 million sq kilometers) containing hundreds of different species of animals. i saw birds with beautiful multi-colored feathers, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles, a panda, etc. the park also has built in leisure facilities like a lake with paddle boats, inflatable climbing wall for kids, playground, etc. there are shows going on all throughout the day but unfortunately didnt get to see any of it when we visited. there are elephant shows and sea lion shows as well as dog racing...there are animals stationed outside of their cages like elephants, tigers, monkeys and snakes which u can pose with but u have to pay 10RMB...more if u want them to do tricks ...there's also a pagoda that offers a panoramic view of the zoo and surrounding area
you need at least half a day to do this thing. entrance fee is RMB60
Shezhen China

While on a trip to Hong Kong we took a day trip to Shenzhen by tour.
The most interesting part for me was the border crossing where we have to cross a bridge before reaching the check point. The china side of the bridge then have high fences with barbed wire on top.
We were brought to a fruit market where we bought some fruits for breakies and then to a kindergarten. After which we ended up in Window On the World , an amusement park which was somewhat liked Epcot Centre in Orlando US . .
Another place we were brought to was a state run store where they were some displayed of tarracota warriors and horses and of course related souvernirs.
Overall I find the trip quite boring as the thing we saw was not very interesting to me. The only exciting part was the border crossing as it was our first time to China.
