Once A Fishing Village
by RoyJava
Once a fishing village Shenzhen now-adays has fishing grounds more inland. We watched these when driving by bus from ZhuHai to Shenzhen. A lot of rivers bring a lot of freshwater to these fishing grounds.
It was told the sweet water fish here, like the mandarin fish, is a wonderful product for Hongkong. The fish farms got concerned when malachite green was found in these mandarin fishes. Still a problem ... let's hope it will become better for the fish farms.
Catch a ferry- its very easy
by albaaust
This is another easy way to get to Shenzhen but, the last ferry is at 7.30pm. We caught the ferry back from Shenzhen to Kowloon City. There is also a ferry service to Hong Kong Airport and Macau from Shenzhen. Go to Fu Yong Ferry Terminal. There is a free bus shuttle service at Shenzhen airport to the terminal. From the counter at the airport you can buy your ferry ticket and organise the bus shuttle. Fu Yong is about 5 minutes by bus from the airport. The turbo jet takes about an hour. Cost: 202 Yuan
I have included scanned a scanned of the turbojet brochure which has time schedules, destinations etc(there are 4 pages).

comprehensive indian menu
by zephyrgurl108 about Curry Leaf
This restaurant has pages and pages of dishes from all over India, not to mention pages and pages of various drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food is great. However, the first time we tried it, we had to wait a while. Well, they say good things are worth the wait. So we did. And it was indeed worth it. The interior is a mix of restaurant and bar feel. get to see shenzhen's "old face" by visiting the hakka museum in longgang district.
it's a maze-like village occupied by the roaming Hakka people of China. The place is now abandoned and has been turned to a museum. Entrance fee is RMB20. They close during lunch break 12:00 to 2:30.
Shenzhen 1 day trip
by warzx
Went to Shenzhen on train from Hongkong, hasn't got much time to wander about. Basically the walking population is amazing on the road, probably because i was there on a public holiday. Went to windows of the world, its those minature architecture all over the world. expensive admission tickets. Luo Hu is a good shopping centre, cheap stuff, dun forget to bargain, the ladies shoes are cheap, the taxis are cheap too. BUT, beware of pickpockets, and try not to go to the toilet alone. And if u have to bargain, make sure u honour ur last bargain price, else they will chase after u jus to close the deal. The chinese sales staff can scold u very rudely.
