Shopping at Shenzhen
by victorwkf
Shenzhen is a shopping paradise because there are many shopping centres in the city area and the price is cheaper than in nearby Hong Kong, especially during the annual sale season around April every year. Also, the service staff in Shenzhen is friendly.
Fu Yong Ferry Terminal
by SLLiew
Fuyong Terminal is 5 minutes next to the Shenzen Airport at Baoan. It is an easy alternative to take a ferry or fast boat from Hong Kong to Shenzen with less queueing time in crossing than the land immigration and custom of both Hong Kong and China.
Have met with many business travels at the ferry terminal coming from Hong Kong. There is a small restaurant for waiting. Just have to know the schedule in advance and at least 60 minutes of check in with luggage or 30 minutes without to ensure you do not miss the boat.
Where expats love to shop
by bpacker
If you're an expat and into shopping, then Lowu Commercial City is your place. There's 1500 shops over here that sells everything under the sky. From really fake Anya Hindmarch "I am not a plastic bag" bags to embroidered satin shoes. Other than merchandise, they have hundreds of little shops that offer cheap beauty treatments and restaurants that offer unbelievably affordable banquet food.
Just the perfect lure for bored expat wives like myself.
If truth be told, there are many unadventurous expats do not venture beyond the hallowed grounds of this shopping centre.
Where: Lowu Commercial City
How to go there:Take the KCR from Hong Kong. It's just outside of the customs building.
For Whom: Local and HK expat wives who are keen for cheap eats, beauty treats and even cheaper buys
Shenzhen

Shenzhen is good for doing business and shopping. I saw billions of foreigners wandering inside shopping malls, they carried huge luggage, some hired translator, they buy buy buy and buy.
From the airport (Bao An) we took the bus, ticket 20 yuan each at the counter right in front of the airport, some 20 minutes we were sent to the railway station called LuoHu. The place is not attractive, polluted air from buses/cars and we gotta walk a little to look for hotels (a lot, don't worry, cost 100-500 yuan). Some touts around trying to pull you to their hotels, they are quite nice peoples, so far so good. We got one hotel at LuoHu - 3rd lane - a low cost hotel 100 yuan, not that bad the condition, yet we have near 20 restaurants down there, convenience but the food average, they (all Shenzhen) allow smoking inside aircon, so be prepared to enjoy thick and heavy second-hand smokes.
Shopping malls in Shenzhen is insane, I lost totally. I suppose Shenzhen alone has one trillion shopping malls, a tourists need 100 years of shopping 24 hours daily non-stop. I do not want to shop to hard, I am lazy, I shopped 2 only, took me 3 days.
