    Luxury Hotel In Great Location

    by

I have not stayed in this hotel, but I think it is situated at a very strategic location in Shenzhen CBD, nearby the green park and metro station. It is a short walk to the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

I really enjoyed the architectural building of this building in Shenzhen.

Check out its official website for more information.

Directions: Metro: Convention and Exhibition Centre Station.

Shenzhen to Hong kong

by quanut

I am arriving to Shenzhen airport and want to take the ferry to Hong Kong. Do I need to buy tickets before or can I buy it when I land in Shenzhen? And do I have to go to shekou or is there a ferry right by the airport? also how often does the ferry run is it on the hour or specific times?

Please help

Re: Shenzhen to Hong kong

The ferry port near Shenzhen Aiport is called FuYong. I don't think ferries go to Hong Kong anymore. They only go to the HK airport and Macau. From the airport there are cross border coaches to HK, either via Shenzhen Bay Bridge or LuoHu.
You could still take a bus to Shekou (bus number 355) and then get a ferry to either Kolwoon or HK Island.

Travel Tips for Shenzhen

Forbidden City @ Splendid China

by SLLiew

If you have not been to Beijing, it is nice to see the entire Forbidden City laid out in front of you albeit miniaturized in size.

You appreciate the overall design of north south axis with marvellous golden yellow color stylized curving roofs. The size and the number of buildings is impressive as it was the imperial control center of the entire Chinese empire during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Excellent photo opportunity. Even having to Beijing and walking through the buildings and seeing the different thrones, I still find this well built representation of the Forbidden City a nice delight - bring back fond memories.

good mix of everything

by zephyrgurl108 about mixC

One of the newest malls to hit Shenzhen is the MixC. With a total area of 180,000 square meters, this is the place to be for all your shopping and relaxation needs. Want a green tea frappucino? MixC has Starbucks. Want the latest fashion? MixC has Mango, Escada, Hugo Boss and other popular brands. You can even go for hours of ice skating fun here.
Clearly, it's my favorite mall. It's spacious, it's clean, it's trendy. It's simply a great place to hang out. watch out for store's seasonal discounts...for Western food, go to the grocery basement called Ole! Products here are of course, more expensive than in Luo Hu or Dongmen. It all depends to you how much you want to splurge.

Quick, cheap and delicious!

by Winged about Street vendors

Just find a major shopping area and it will be littered with little stores selling miscellaneous snacks. Sometimes it's good just to make a meal of them so you can sample a lot of different types without ruining your appetite for dinner. ^_^. It's cheap, easy and absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed various pancakes, barbequed meats and creampuffs, as well as things I don't know the names of, but there are delicious things available all over the place, most of which you can see before you buy.

See the people selling things on the street

by Alain_Smeets

This area is always full of live. It's a permanent market, where you can buy food, clothes or even cut your hair.

Take your time to walk around and don’t be surprised if people stair at you when they pass you on their bikes. Or what to say when they stand with 3 people behind you to see on the small LCD screen when you are taking a photo. You step into a total different world.

Brief trip to ShenZhen, China

by Diane_T

During the second to the last day of our trip, we went to ShenZhen for a whole day visit. We woke up early so that we can cover more places in ShenZhen. We had an early start in the immigration and waited for hours before we got our visa.

In ShenZhen, (to our dismay) it is mandatory to visit the jade factory, jewelry factory, tea factory and the biscuit factory and this took up more than half of our time in ShenZhen. (tip: the more you buy, the longer time you will have to spend waiting for the tour guide because they will be busy counting you know what =) )

We were able to visit a nearby mall given the little time left and had a quick stop in the front area of "Window of the World". We were really disappointed that we didn't have time to explore Window of the World because it showcases minatures famous sites of the World. (i.e. Eiffel Tower, Great Wall of China etc.)

Our day ended with another stop in the immigration area, going to Hong Kong.
