To get away from the City

Maybe you would say it is too busy and noisy in Shenzhen, how about have a break? Sanzhoutian is a nice place to visit. It is not far from the central city (40 mins drive), a rare peaceful place to hike and breath surrounded by beautiful hills and lake. Not much people go there to spend their weekend.
There are several restaurants inside of it, you could taste the wild chicken there.
Please bring your ID card in hand, there would be two or three Jiefangjun(Army?) besides the gate.

Airplane from Shenzhen to Kunming

The flight from Shenzhen to Kunming is about 2 hours, and you can buy a air ticket for a special price if you book at least one month in advance. I bought a ticket with 40% off the normal price!
ShenZhen airport is modern and comfortable!

Shopping Dongmen Market

You should get off from Lau Jia Zhan ( Old Street Station) to get into busy shopping district. The are a lot things for you to shop here especially cloths, shoes, begs, and etc. You should bargain most of the time.

Surprisingly modern metropolis

We had to go through Shenzhen to go to Guangzhou by train. We crossed the border along with hundreds of people and had to walk about a kilometer to the station on the Shenzhen side. Shenzhen had many tall buildings and malls but unfotunately we did not have time to really check out this city.
