Route to ZhaoQing

by wangsherl

Anyone knows the best way going from JiuLong (HongKang)to ZhaoQing? Is it a Must going through GuangZhou?
Thanks!

Do you mean from Kowloon, Hong Kong?

I have taken the bus to ZhaoQing from Guangzhou. You can check with bus tour agents at HK Airport whether they have direct to ZhaoQing or from Shenzhen.

Yes that is what is meant. Kowloon comes from GauLong in Cantonese. JiuLong is the Mandarin pinyin for it. It means nine dragons.
As for the question. No you don't have to go through GuangZhou but it is probably the way with most options. You could also take a ferry to Zhuhia (JiuLongGang) and take a taxi to Gongbei bus station (Macau border crossing) and take a bus from there to ZhaoQing. This gives you bus times.

Going from HK via Macao to ZhaoQing would mean having to go through another immigration check point. Just a pointer.

Re: Route to ZhaoQing

You don't need to go via Macau - Zhuhai is on the mainland. The buses leave from the Zhuhai side of the border.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry, I misread the posting as it mentioned Macau border crossing but now realized it was only in reference for location of the bus terminal to take a bus to Zhaoqing.

Chongxi Pagoda

by Confucius

Further down the riverbank is Chongxi Pagoda. It was originally built in 1582 during the Ming dynasty, has 9 stories and is 58 meters tall.
Each story has eight angles on which wind chimes used to be hung. Recent renovations over the last decade have the pagoda looking like new again but the wind chimes were conveniently forgotten.
