Zhongshan - Last Visit in October 2003

Zhongshan is located within the rich fertile lands of Pearl River Delta. There are many rice paddys dotted around this area.

On this particular day, I saw this vehicle stopping at the traffic lights and the driver jumped out of his vehicle. He was busy rummaging through the back of the vehicle and noticed that this vehicle was carrying lots of little chicks. Some of the chicks was accidentally dropped on to the road! Luckily, it was still a red light and the driver quickly picked them off the road and put them back into the vehicle.

I came here because the tour organized a visit to this Fruit Research Garden in the outskirts of the city. Here's a dragon fruit plant.

Due to its low lying area, there are many fish ponds amongst the rice paddys.

Zhongshan is located along the main arterial expressways of China. This is the newly built Beijing - Zhuhai expressway. It is now possible to drive from Guangdong province to the Chinese capital of Beijing.
