I will be staying a nite in Zhuhai in early Dec'08 & thereafter to Guangzhou.
From reading the bus terminal is actually located at Gongbei border gate but there is no info on where this busses going to stop in Guangzhou. So I hope ppl here can guide me on which bus station in Guangzhou those busses going to??
There are two bus stations in Zhuhai (at least). One is right underneath the border gate, in a shopping mall, the other is outside the gate, across a grass square. I took a bus from there and it went to the bus station next to Guanzhou railway station. But I'm sure that if you wanted you could find other buses going to other bus stations in GZ, for instance Tianhe. Takes 2 - 3 hours.
Eh, they go to various locations in Guangzhou eg Jinan University, Garden Hotel, China Hotel, Zhongshan University, Yuexiu south station, Huaxia Hotel and Tianhe long-distance bus station.
Wow, din know there r so many stations...BTW, which bus company (& fare) should I take if my plan in Guangzhou is to visit the following places in the following manners (Probably within 1/2 day as I will be going to Shenzhen by taking 5pm train from Guangzhou east station:
10am: Beijing Lu surrounding (probably 6 banyan tree temple also)
2pm Tianhe Shoppings
5pm Guangzhou East train station
China Hotel is right nxt to Yuexiu Park (which has 5 Rams statue). That's line 2 metro. Beijing Lu isn't really on any metro (yet), but nearest is probably gongyuanqian (line 1 & 2 interchange). Tianhe shopping is tiyuxilu on line 1, and GZ East is on lines 2 and ?3.
GZ main station is on line 2, 1 stop north of yuexiu park.

Not sure whether I can visit all the above from 10am to 5PM??..I'm taking 6:30am bus from Gong Bei. Staying at Yong Tong Hotel
The shopping malls are all very well, but they mostly sell the same expensive bling and clothes that you can buy anywhere in the world. (And my tip is never buy clothes for anyone not with you - either they won't fit, or just won't be appreciated. And if it does fit, make sure the labeel doesn't say XL).
GZ not much of a tourist city and the river really only looks good at night, when it's lighted.
Half those places on your list I've never heard of/visited, but this is only my third year here!
If you come over the border from Macau, just outside the customs building is an underground mall. Head down the escalator and head kind of straight across the atrium towards the left. There is a bookstore in that general direction where you can get a map of Zhuhai which has the bus routes in it for really cheap. Getting on the wrong bus since I could not read Chinese and ending up in the middle of a farming community where the bus route deadended.
While Shenzen was the first new economic zone bordering Hong Kong, Zhuhai played an important role as another economic zone bordering Macao.
Zhuhai has several beach areas where people from Macau come for cheaper accommodation, dining, entertainment and beach activities.
People cross from Zhuhai to Macao for gambling and shopping.
I passed through Zhuhai a few times from Macao to Guangzhou as well as visited several industrial parks in Zhuhai Area.
